Engage / Lifecycle

Gaming lifecycle and event engagement

It's the player's birthday, a season just dropped, and a trade offer they were eyeing expires tonight — three reasons to come back, and right now nobody's telling them.

What it does

A live game economy runs on moments: a birthday loot box, a VIP milestone bonus, a new season or event launch, a trade offer about to expire. Today the high-value ones are handled by a VIP team typing messages by hand, and the rest go out as undifferentiated blasts. The agent turns each moment into a conversation on the chat or in-app surface the player already lives in — the birthday gift becomes a pick-your-reward chat, the expiring trade offers come with help reviewing them right there, the VIP bonus is delivered personally without anyone writing it. This is incremental engagement and spend, generated at the moment the player is most ready to act.

How it works

  1. 1
Trigger. a gaming-economy moment fires for a player — a birthday, a VIP or tier milestone, a season or event launch, or a trade-offer expiry timer — combined with what this player actually plays and spends on.
  2. 2
Decision. the agent reads the player's memory — favourite modes, spend pattern, inventory, which events they engage with, channel consent — and picks the treatment and the moment to send. Every unprompted message passes a quality judge for relevance, tone, and offer policy before it goes.
  3. 3
Action. a conversational opener lands in-app, on push, or in chat — a birthday reward picker, a VIP bonus credited with a personal note, a season-launch heads-up into a mode they play, or a "your trade offers expire tonight, want to review them?" prompt — each actionable in the same thread.
  4. 4
Follow-through. VIP sends a human team used to write by hand are drafted automatically, with review where the studio wants it; redemptions and replies write back to the player profile; an offer already claimed or expired is cancelled before its reminder sends.
Example
AgentHappy birthday! There's a loot box on your account — three reward tracks, you pick which one opens. Want to see them?
PlayerGo on, what are they?
AgentThe first matches the build you've been levelling, the second is cosmetics for your main, the third is event tokens for the season that drops Friday. Pick one and it's yours right now — and heads up, two of your trade offers expire tonight if you want a quick look after.

Configuration

How the agent is wired for this use case.

Triggera gaming-economy moment — birthday_reward_due, vip_milestone_reached, season_or_event_launch, or trade_offer_expiring — raised from the LiveOps and economy systems against the player profile.
Tools & actions
  • LiveOps / events platform · read the season/event calendar, milestone state, and the player's eligibility for a moment.
  • Player inventory / trade system · read owned items, claimable rewards, and trade offers with their expiry timers.
  • Customer memory store · read favourite modes, spend pattern, and event engagement to choose the treatment.
  • VIP / CRM workflow · auto-draft the personal VIP bonus message the team used to type by hand, with review where wanted.
  • Messaging channel · open the moment in-app, on push, or in chat, with the reward or trade review actionable in-thread.
Autonomyruns unattended; every lifecycle message is judge-gated for relevance, tone, and offer policy, and a reminder is suppressed once the offer is claimed or expires. Any grant of in-game currency, loot, or a discounted bundle stays within the studio's pre-set reward and economy policy — the agent never invents an offer. No payment is taken in this flow: a free reward is credited in-thread, and any paid purchase completes through the studio's secure checkout, never inside the conversation. VIP sends carry a human-review option where the studio wants a person in the loop.
Channelspush · in-app · chat
Escalationa billing dispute, a restricted or banned-account flag, or a complaint hands off to player support with the account context attached rather than continuing the lifecycle thread.

What you need

The inputs this use case runs on. Your channels stay yours; the agent supplies the judgment.

Signals

player dates and timers — birthdays, VIP/tier milestones, season and event launches, trade-offer expiry; claim and play events for stale-send cancellation.

Data

play and spend history to pick the right reward or offer, VIP/tier status, inventory and claimable rewards, channel preference and consent.

Guardrails

judge gating on every unprompted send; reward and economy grants only within studio policy; coordination with the LiveOps and CRM calendar so the agent and existing blasts never collide on the same player; frequency caps; opt-out honored; the studio keeps owning the send channels; reminders cancelled once an offer is claimed or expired.

Metrics it moves

  • arpuup: lifecycle moments add purchases and redemptions the live-ops calendar was not going to produce on its own.
  • conversion-rateup: a reward delivered as a pick-one conversation at a personal moment converts where a mass loot blast gets dismissed.
  • dau-mauup: birthday boxes, season launches, and expiring-offer prompts pull lapsing players back into the daily loop.
