Preventive outreach on gaming/account issues

The top-up that failed mid-session, the trade stuck in escrow, the client error that crashed a match — the agent gets there with the fix and a little something before the player rage-quits.

What it does

In a gaming economy the gap between friction and churn is minutes, not days. A top-up that fails while the player is trying to buy the thing they want, a trade frozen in escrow, a client error that drops them out of a match, a wallet that shows the wrong balance — each one lands as anger, and an angry player either floods support or simply stops opening the app. This card watches the player-side trouble signals the platform already logs and has the agent open first: we saw your top-up failed, it's sorted, and here's a small bonus for the hassle. The friction becomes a goodwill moment instead of a churn event, and the furious ticket that issue would have produced is never filed.

How it works

  1. 1
Trigger. a player-side trouble signal fires against the account — a failed top-up or purchase, a trade stuck in escrow, a logged client error or crash tied to their session, or a disrupted match or login streak.
  2. 2
Decision. the agent reads the account and the player's memory to confirm what actually happened, how much it matters to this player (a whale mid-spend versus a casual login), whether they have already raged in support, and what goodwill the policy allows — a bonus, a small loot grant, a retry credit. Because the message is unprompted, it goes out only after the judge clears it.
  3. 3
Action. it opens in-app, on push, or in chat with a specific, owning message — the exact thing that broke, the plain-language status or fix, and the goodwill gesture sized to the relationship, in the player's language.
  4. 4
Follow-through. if the player contacts support first, the queued outreach is cancelled as stale; if the issue is still resolving (a stuck trade, a wallet sync), the agent follows up when it clears and writes the whole exchange back so no one asks the player to re-explain it.
Example
AgentHeads up — your 1,200-coin top-up didn't go through a few minutes ago and your card wasn't charged. We've cleared the block on our side, so it'll work if you try again. For the interruption, there's a bonus crate waiting in your inventory.
Customerok that was annoying mid-match. trying again... yeah it worked this time
AgentSorted. The top-up landed and the crate's already in your stash. I've noted what happened on your account, so if anything looks off later you won't have to explain it from scratch.

Configuration

How the agent is wired for this use case.

Triggera player-side trouble event — topup_failed, trade_stuck, client_error_logged, or a session_disrupted / repeated-auth_failed pattern — routed to the agent with the player reference.
Tools & actions
  • Player account / wallet system · read balance, purchase, and inventory state to confirm what broke and its current status.
  • Payments / top-up provider · check the live state of the failed top-up or purchase and whether it can simply be retried.
  • In-game economy / rewards engine · grant the bonus, loot crate, or retry credit within the configured goodwill policy.
  • Support platform / CRM · check for an existing contact, suppress duplicates, and write the explanation back to the player record.
  • Messaging channel · open the owning, specific message in-app, on push, or in chat.
Autonomystatus, fix, and policy-bounded goodwill on routine player-trouble signals run unattended behind the judge. The goodwill grant is capped per the rewards policy and is never improvised beyond it; anything touching a payment dispute, a suspected-fraud or account-security flag, or a possible ban follows a handoff policy class — routed to the right human team, not resolved by the agent.
Channelsin-app · push · chat
Escalationa payment dispute, an account-security or suspected-fraud signal, a possible exploit or ban question, or any issue the agent cannot fix factually hands off to the appropriate specialist with the account context attached.

What you need

The inputs this use case runs on. Your channels stay yours; the agent supplies the judgment.

Signals

player-side trouble events — topup_failed, trade_stuck, client_error_logged, session_disrupted, repeated auth_failed; resolution events to trigger the follow-up.

Data

account, wallet, and inventory state; player profile, value tier, and support memory; the goodwill policy and per-player eligibility; channel consent.

Guardrails

judge gating on every unprompted message; goodwill grants bounded by the rewards policy and never beyond it; fraud, account-security, exploit, and ban matters always routed to humans, never confirmed or denied by the agent; frequency caps so one bad session doesn't become a stream of pings; suppression when the player already contacted support; stale outreach cancelled once resolved; the studio keeps owning the send channels.

Metrics it moves

  • contact-ratedown, as covered top-up, trade, and client-error events stop generating angry inbound tickets.
  • ticket-deflectionup, the outreach closes the loop before a furious player opens one.
  • churndown, because a frustration that would have ended the session is turned into a reason to keep playing.
  • csatup, since the platform owned the problem and made it right before the player had to ask.
